Green Island High School

Green Island High School is located in Cousins' Cove about two miles from Green Island Western Hanover on the highway between two tourist areas, Montego Bay and Negril.

The school was established in 1969 and was one of the fifty Junior Secondary Schools in the island built to offer education to children who were not successful in entering the traditional high schools.

With the introduction of the grades 10 and 11 programmes in 1974, the school progressed from a Junior Secondary to a New Secondary School. In 1998, the school was further upgraded to a Comprehensive High School and finally achieved High school status in 2000.
